IYM School Program
Indy Yoga Movement brings certified yoga instructors into schools and youth-serving organizations across Central Indiana.
Students are led through a flow by IYM certified yoga instructors with breathing, strength, stretching and relaxation exercises.

Why bring yoga and mindfulness to schools?

Proven Benefits
According to a study conducted in 2012, the teachers of children with emotional and behavioral disorders reported an improvement in focus & attention in class, adaptive skills, and a reduction in depression symptoms after the students had participated in a 3.5 month yoga program.

Empowering Central Indiana’s youth since 2014
I think yoga helps me de-stress after school or during stressful times. It’s a relaxing exercise, so I feel good mentally and physically afterwards.

What to know before you apply
In order for our programs to thrive we need strong advocates in the schools. We require the enthusiastic support of an administrator and at least one staff member in order for our programs to be successful. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit and fundraise year round to support our programs and mission. We require all of our schools and organizations to attempt to help fund whatever IYM programming you might receive. If you are unable to find any funding, please apply and we will do our best to help you. Funding support can come from a variety of sources.
